Watermelon Weekend

Watermelon Mint Refresher. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Watermelon Weekend

Watermelon makes this feel more like chilled fruit water than a sweet breakfast drink. Mint adds a fresh scent without covering up the melon, especially when you press the leaves gently instead of tearing them to pieces. Use ripe watermelon, because the water won’t improve a bland piece of fruit. Give the cubes a little time to infuse, then enjoy the pale, easygoing result over ice.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Cold water
  • 1/2 cup Watermelon cubes
  • 5 leaf Mint leaves

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Watermelon and mint · refreshing fluids

The 6 oz of cold water contributes to your day’s fluids, with watermelon and mint providing the flavor that makes another glass appealing.

Mint and watermelon

The mint contributes a fresh, cooling aroma to watermelon, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
