Tamarind Date Night Kitchen
Warm Tamarind, Date & Ginger Cup. A different way to make the moment yours.

Tamarind gives this cup a rounded, dark-fruit sourness, while date supplies a softer sweetness and ginger adds warmth. Dissolve the concentrate well so the acidity is spread evenly through the liquid. A soft date releases flavor more easily than a firm one. The result should feel gently tart rather than aggressively sour, so start cautiously with a strong concentrate. This is an unusual evening fruit drink with a deeper character than citrus, particularly good if sweet milk drinks don't appeal.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Water
- 1/2 tsp Unsweetened tamarind concentrate
- 1 fruit Soft pitted date
- 2 slice Fresh ginger, thinly sliced

- Prepare the fruit as listed, removing all stones, cores and hard stems.
- Put the water and all remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until any fresh fruit has softened.
