Summer Before Noon
Strawberry Watermelon Cooler. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Strawberry and watermelon make a light summer pairing, with neither one needing much decoration. In cold water, the strawberry is likely to be more noticeable at first; the melon’s sweetness comes through more quietly. Press some of the fruit rather than leaving every piece whole. This is fruit-infused water, so expect a gentle flavor instead of the concentrated sweetness of a blended watermelon drink.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Cold water
- 1/4 cup Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Watermelon cubes
Make it
- Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
- Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
- Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.
Benefits
Strawberry · a little vitamin C
Strawberry brings some vitamin C to the mix—a nutrient involved in collagen formation for healthy skin, alongside a light, juicy sweetness from watermelon.
Watermelon · a flavor worth noticing
Using watermelon beside strawberry gives the glass a light, juicy sweetness, creating its own flavor without needing carbonation or an alcoholic pour.
