Saffron Date Golden Hour
A date-sweetened saffron oat cup.

Dates give saffron milk a deeper sweetness than sugar, with a faint caramel note that suits the golden spice. Soft dates blend most easily; firm ones can soak in a little warm water first. The saffron should stay aromatic rather than medicinal, so two threads are enough for one cup. Strain out stubborn date skins if your blender leaves them behind. This makes a rounded, gently sweet drink with a more interesting finish than ordinary vanilla milk.
