Roasted Banana Sesame Morning

Roasting the banana gives a familiar breakfast blend a deeper flavor.

Roasted Banana Sesame Morning

Roasting changes banana from a familiar smoothie ingredient into something with a deeper, almost caramel-like aroma. Tahini adds a slightly savory sesame note, and cinnamon ties the flavors together. Let the banana cool before blending so the finished drink stays pleasantly chilled. This takes more time than throwing frozen fruit into a blender, but the roasting is doing real work. The result is creamy and rounded, without needing caramel syrup or a large spoonful of sweetener.

Ingredients

  • 1 fruit Banana, peeled and halved lengthwise
  • 6 oz Unsweetened oat milk, chilled
  • 1 tsp Tahini, stirred
  • 1/16 tsp Ground cinnamon

Make it

  1. Heat the oven to 400°F / 200°C. Put the banana on a parchment-lined tray and roast for 12–15 minutes until softened and lightly browned.
  2. Let the banana cool for about 20 minutes. Do not blend it while hot in a sealed blender.
  3. Blend with the oat milk, tahini and cinnamon until smooth. Thin with a splash of milk if needed and serve immediately.

Benefits

Banana with a useful milk choice

With fortified oat milk beneath the banana, the recipe can contribute calcium as well as a creamy texture. Calcium helps maintain bones and teeth.

Tahini · a flavor worth noticing

Using tahini beside banana, oat milk, and cinnamon gives the glass a savory sesame richness, creating its own flavor without needing carbonation or an alcoholic pour.

Contains sesame.
