Roasted Apple Vanilla Hearth

A warm oat drink blended with roasted apple.

Roasted Apple Vanilla Hearth

Roasting changes the apple from crisp and sharp to mellow and almost jammy. That extra step gives this milk a baked-fruit character that raw apple cannot provide. Blend only after the fruit has cooled, then rewarm the finished mixture gently. Cinnamon and vanilla make familiar companions, but neither needs to be heavy. The result is a smooth autumn cup with a rounded apple flavor, worth the oven time when you are already cooking dinner nearby.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1/2 fruit Apple, cored and sliced
  • 1/8 tsp Alcohol-free vanilla flavoring
  • 1 tiny pinch Ground cinnamon

Make it

  1. Heat the oven to 190°C/375°F. Put the apple in a small baking dish with a tablespoon of water.
  2. Roast for 20–25 minutes, until very soft. Let cool before blending with the cold milk and cinnamon.
  3. Warm the blended drink in a saucepan. Stir in the vanilla and strain if needed.

Benefits

Apple with a useful milk choice

With fortified oat milk beneath the apple, the recipe can contribute calcium as well as a creamy texture. Calcium helps maintain bones and teeth.

Vanilla · a reason to linger

Warm vanilla with oat milk, apple, and cinnamon and you get a sweet-smelling vanilla aroma in a cup made for small, comfortably warm sips.
