Raspberry Ginger First Cup

Raspberry Ginger Iced Tea. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Raspberry Ginger First Cup

Raspberry puts a bright berry edge into this ginger tea, while fresh ginger reinforces the warming finish. The berries release color readily, but a light press helps their flavor spread too. Brew the tea before adding the fruit and extra ginger so you can judge each stage. Expect a tart, warming cup with some seeds unless strained, rather than a sweet raspberry infusion that happens to contain ginger.

Ingredients

  • 1 tea bag Ginger herbal tea
  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1/4 cup Raspberries
  • 2 slice Fresh ginger

Make it

  1. Steep the tea in hot water for the time on its packet, then remove the bag.
  2. Let the tea cool. Press or mash any soft fruit and stir in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Pour over ice. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink.

Benefits

Ginger tea ยท caffeine-free with raspberry and ginger

Raspberry and ginger changes the character of the ginger tea, giving a caffeine-free brew more than one flavor to notice.

A different side of ginger

There is a peppery warmth from the measured ginger in the ginger tea and raspberry mixture, giving that ingredient a place without drowning out the other flavors.
