Pumpkin Seed Night Window

Pumpkin Seed & Vanilla Oat Cup. A different way to make the moment yours.

Pumpkin Seed Night Window

Pumpkin seeds make this cup taste lightly nutty, with a faint savory edge that vanilla softens. Blend them with the cold milk first so the texture becomes as smooth as possible before heating. The optional maple syrup is only there to round the flavor if you want it. This won't taste like pumpkin spice; it is the seed flavor you're exploring. The result is a simple, creamy evening cup with a little more character than another cinnamon milk.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted shelled pumpkin seeds
  • 1/8 tsp Alcohol-free vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 tsp Maple syrup (optional)

Make it

  1. Prepare the ingredients as listed. Any grain, root vegetable or chestnut listed as cooked must already be fully cooked and cooled.
  2. Blend the cold oat milk with any fruit, nuts, seeds, nut paste or cooked ingredients until completely smooth. Whisk powders with a spoonful of milk first if needed.
  3. Pour into a small saucepan and add the remaining ingredients. Warm gently for 3–4 minutes while whisking; do not boil. Remove any whole peel or ginger slices before serving.
  4. Thin with a splash of water if needed and sip once comfortably warm.

Benefits

Pumpkin seeds · a useful mineral

Beside oat milk and vanilla, pumpkin seeds offers a little magnesium, used by your body for releasing energy from food, as well as a nutty, slightly earthy flavor.

A warmer side of vanilla

The oat milk and pumpkin seeds carries a sweet-smelling vanilla aroma from vanilla, giving you a fragrant warm drink to enjoy in place of an alcoholic nightcap.
