Pomegranate Clementine Daybreak
A chilled drink with pomegranate, clementine, mint.

Pomegranate juice contributes a slightly tannic, tart edge, while clementine adds sweetness and a softer citrus aroma. A few mint leaves keep the finish cool. The combination works without fizz, which lets the fruit flavors remain clear and uncomplicated. Use plain pomegranate juice rather than a sweetened mixed-fruit drink if you want the intended balance. Stir before each pour if making more than one serving, and leave the mint mostly intact rather than shredding it.
Ingredients
- 5 oz Cold water
- 2 oz Pomegranate juice
- 2 oz Clementine juice
- 4 leaf Mint leaves
Make it
- Prepare the fruit and herbs as listed. Mash soft fruit to release juice; lightly press herbs or thin ginger slices without shredding them.
- Add the still juices and stir. Strain out seeds, skins or herb pieces if you prefer a smoother texture.
- Stir in the cold water. Let fresh fruit, herbs or ginger infuse for 5 minutes, then remove the ginger or herb sprigs when the flavor suits you. Serve chilled.
Benefits
Clementine ยท a little vitamin C
The 2 oz of clementine juice adds some vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, with pomegranate and mint rounding out the flavor.
Pomegranate, clementine, and mint
The pomegranate contributes a tart, slightly drying finish to clementine and mint, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
