Plum Porch Sunrise

Plum Thyme Water. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Plum Porch Sunrise

Plum and thyme are a quieter combination than they first sound. The plum gives a little sweetness and a tang from its skin, while thyme adds a gently woody aroma. Slice a ripe plum thinly and lightly bruise the herb. This needs a little time in the water to become interesting; adding more thyme straight away can cover the fruit before it has had a chance to show up.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Cold water
  • 1/2 fruit Plum
  • 1 sprig Thyme

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Plum and thyme · refreshing fluids

The 6 oz of cold water contributes to your day’s fluids, with plum and thyme providing the flavor that makes another glass appealing.

Plum and thyme

The plum contributes a sweet-tart plum flavor to thyme, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
