Peppermint Couch Cocoa
Peppermint Cocoa. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Peppermint gives cocoa a clear, cooling edge against oat milk’s soft texture. It’s a familiar chocolate-and-mint pairing, but unsweetened cocoa leaves a little bitterness rather than an automatic dessert sweetness. Let the peppermint infuse, then mix the cocoa thoroughly so there are no dry pockets. Gentle heat is enough. The mint should freshen the chocolate, not make the cup taste as though the cocoa has been replaced with mint tea.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
- 1 tsp Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tea bag Peppermint tea
Make it
- Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
- Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
- Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.
Benefits
Cocoa with a useful milk choice
Choose fortified oat milk and the cocoa in this cup comes with a little calcium too, contributing to normal muscle function as well as bones and teeth.
A warmer side of cocoa
The oat milk and peppermint carries a deep, bittersweet chocolate flavor from cocoa, giving you a fragrant warm drink to enjoy in place of an alcoholic nightcap.
