Pear Vanilla Evening Tea

Pear Vanilla Chamomile. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Pear Vanilla Evening Tea

Pear and vanilla make chamomile feel a little fuller in aroma while leaving the texture light. The pear supplies gentle fruit sweetness, and vanilla only needs a small measure to be noticeable. Slice ripe pear thinly and let it infuse in the brewed tea before adjusting anything. This is a subtle combination. If the fruit is faint, more vanilla won’t fix it; a little extra time with the pear is the more useful first step.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1 tea bag Chamomile tea
  • 1/4 cup Pear slices
  • 1/8 tsp Alcohol-free vanilla flavoring

Make it

  1. Add the tea or fruit and spices to a heatproof mug or small saucepan.
  2. Pour in the hot water. Steep tea for the time on its packet, or gently simmer fruit for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags. Strain if you prefer, add any optional sweetener, and sip while comfortably warm.

Benefits

Chamomile · caffeine-free with pear and vanilla

Choose pure chamomile for this pear and vanilla cup: its gentle floral aroma comes without the caffeine found in black tea.

Pear beside chamomile and vanilla

Using 1/4 cup of pear adds a mellow orchard sweetness to the warm chamomile and vanilla, bringing aroma as well as taste to this combination.
