Pear at Daybreak

Pear Ginger Refresher. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Pear at Daybreak

Pear and ginger make a gentle morning pairing with a little surprise at the end. The pear is mild and softly sweet; ginger leaves a warmer impression than the pale drink might suggest. Thin slices release more flavor than thick wedges, and a ripe pear helps enormously. Let everything sit in the cold water briefly, then decide whether you want more ginger rather than adding it all at once.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Cold water
  • 1/4 cup Pear slices
  • 2 slice Fresh ginger

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Pear and ginger · refreshing fluids

There’s 6 oz of water behind the pear and ginger in this recipe: everyday hydration with a mellow orchard sweetness, rather than another plain glass.

Pear and ginger

The pear contributes a mellow orchard sweetness to ginger, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
