Peach Garden Morning

Peach Basil Water. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Peach Garden Morning

Peach and basil make this a fragrant water rather than an intensely fruity drink. The peach is soft and sweet when ripe; basil adds a fresh, leafy edge that keeps the pairing interesting. Cut the peach into thin pieces so more of it touches the water. Go lightly with the leaves at first—an extra few minutes of infusion can be more useful than doubling the basil.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Cold water
  • 1/4 cup Peach slices
  • 3 leaf Basil leaves

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Peach and basil · refreshing fluids

Peach and basil makes room for more water in your day. The 6 oz base carries a mellow stone-fruit sweetness without needing alcohol to give it character.

A different side of basil

There is a savory green fragrance from the measured basil in the peach mixture, giving that ingredient a place without drowning out the other flavors.
