Passion Pear Morning Notes
A chilled drink with passion, pear, lime.

Passion fruit brings a bold, tangy aroma, while ripe pear softens the flavor and adds a little texture. Lime is a supporting ingredient here; the passion fruit already has plenty of acidity. Press the pear well and stir thoroughly so it doesn't all collect at the bottom. Strain the passion fruit seeds if you'd rather have a smoother drink. This combination is fruity and fragrant without needing a large amount of juice or added sweetener.
Ingredients
- 5 oz Cold water
- 1/2 oz Passion fruit pulp
- 1/2 fruit Ripe pear, cored and sliced
- 1/4 oz Lime juice
Make it
- Prepare the fruit and herbs as listed. Mash soft fruit to release juice; lightly press herbs or thin ginger slices without shredding them.
- Add the still juices and stir. Strain out seeds, skins or herb pieces if you prefer a smoother texture.
- Stir in the cold water. Let fresh fruit, herbs or ginger infuse for 5 minutes, then remove the ginger or herb sprigs when the flavor suits you. Serve chilled.
Benefits
Lime ยท a little vitamin C
Using lime with passion fruit and pear brings vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, along with a lively citrus tang.
Passion fruit, pear, and lime
The passion fruit contributes a fragrant tropical sharpness to pear and lime, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
