Passion Before Plans

Passion Fruit Orange Fizz. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Passion Before Plans

Passion fruit brings the perfume and the tartness; orange fills in the sweeter citrus notes around it. Bubbles keep the pulp from making this feel too dense. You’ll likely have seeds or fruit texture in the glass, depending on the pulp you use. Mix the two fruits before adding the sparkling water, then taste: passion fruit can be surprisingly sour even when the aroma suggests something sweet.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Sparkling water
  • 1 oz Passion fruit pulp
  • 2 oz Orange juice

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Orange · a little vitamin C

You get a small vitamin C contribution from orange in the passion fruit mixture, supporting normal immune function alongside a familiar sweet-tart citrus flavor.

A sparkling setting for passion fruit

Pairing passion fruit with orange puts a fragrant tropical sharpness into a fizzy glass, with bubbles making the texture part of the pleasure.
