Pandan Pear Porch Lamp
A pear and pandan infusion finished with coconut milk.

Pandan brings a fragrant, almost toasted-rice aroma to pear and coconut. The leaf is there to infuse the liquid, so take it out before serving rather than trying to blend it into the cup. Ripe pear gives a quiet sweetness that suits the creamy finish. This drink is softer and less fruity than a pear juice, with coconut adding body rather than a strong tropical flavor. A small saucepan and a fine sieve are enough to make it.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Water
- 1/2 leaf Fresh food-grade pandan leaf, washed and knotted
- 1/4 fruit Ripe pear, cored and chopped
- 3 oz Unsweetened carton coconut milk
Make it
- Simmer the water, pandan and pear gently for 10 minutes.
- Remove the pandan leaf. Mash the pear lightly, then strain for a smooth drink.
- Add the coconut milk and warm gently without boiling.
Benefits
Pandan and pear ยท refreshing fluids
Using pandan, pear, and coconut milk turns the measured water into a drink with a toasted-rice-like fragrance. That water still counts toward your fluid intake.
