Orange Morning Mint

Orange Mint Water. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Orange Morning Mint

Orange juice gives this water an easy, familiar sweetness; mint makes it smell a little fresher than the usual breakfast pour. There’s no fizz or creaminess to distract from those two ingredients. Gently press the mint so you release its aroma without shredding the leaves. The water should lighten the orange rather than erase it, so adjust by a small splash if the first sip feels too faint.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Cold water
  • 2 oz Orange juice
  • 5 leaf Mint leaves

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Orange · a little vitamin C

Using orange with mint brings vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, along with a familiar sweet-tart citrus flavor.

Mint and orange

The mint contributes a fresh, cooling aroma to orange, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
