Orange Chamomile Nightlight

Orange Peel Vanilla Chamomile. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Orange Chamomile Nightlight

Orange peel and vanilla add fragrance to chamomile without the sharper acidity of orange juice. The peel gives a citrus-oil scent, while vanilla makes the aroma a little rounder. Use a small piece with minimal white pith and remove it when the flavor is right. The tea should remain light and floral. This is a cup to smell as well as sip, with no need to make the orange taste as strong as a fruit drink.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1 tea bag Chamomile tea
  • 1 strip Orange peel
  • 1/8 tsp Alcohol-free vanilla flavoring

Make it

  1. Add the tea or fruit and spices to a heatproof mug or small saucepan.
  2. Pour in the hot water. Steep tea for the time on its packet, or gently simmer fruit for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags. Strain if you prefer, add any optional sweetener, and sip while comfortably warm.

Benefits

Chamomile · caffeine-free with orange peel and vanilla

Chamomile gives orange peel and vanilla a brewed base without caffeine, so the flavor does not depend on a caffeinated tea or coffee.

The vanilla detail

Here vanilla supplies a sweet-smelling vanilla aroma, with chamomile and orange peel turning that familiar ingredient into a different kind of warm cup.
