Oolong Pineapple Early Market
A chilled drink with pineapple, ginger, lime.

Pineapple's tangy sweetness works well against oolong's toasted tea flavor. Ginger adds warmth and lime brings a short, sharp finish. Brew the tea normally, cool it, then mix in the fruit juice and thin ginger slices. Remove the ginger once the flavor suits you so it doesn't keep getting stronger. The balance should feel fruity but still clearly tea-based. This is a more assertive morning iced tea, particularly good for someone who prefers tart flavors. Contains caffeine.
Ingredients
- 1 tea bag Oolong tea
- 6 oz Water
- 2 oz Pineapple juice
- 2 slice Fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- 1/4 oz Lime juice
Make it
- Brew the tea in the measured water, using the temperature and steeping time on its packet. Remove the tea bag.
- Cool the tea in a heatproof container, then chill for about 30 minutes.
- Mash any soft fruit in a separate glass. Lightly bruise herbs or ginger; add these and the listed juices or spices to the cooled tea.
- Stir well and taste. Remove ginger or herb sprigs when their flavor suits you. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink, then serve chilled.
Benefits
Lime ยท a little vitamin C
Beside oolong, apple juice, and ginger, lime offers a little vitamin C, used by your body for normal immune function, as well as a lively citrus tang.
A different side of ginger
There is a peppery warmth from the measured ginger in the oolong, apple juice, and lime mixture, giving that ingredient a place without drowning out the other flavors.
Contains caffeine.
