Oat Orange Evening Bowl

Orange-Peel, Oat & Cinnamon Milk. A different way to make the moment yours.

Oat Orange Evening Bowl

A spoonful of oats gives this milk a soft, breakfast-like body, while orange peel adds fragrance without the acidity of orange juice. Cinnamon makes the aroma a little warmer. Blend the oats first and leave the peel whole so it's easy to remove. The cup will thicken slightly as it sits, so add water if needed. This is a quiet, lightly citrusy drink for the end of the day, with a texture that's fuller than tea but still easy to sip.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 tbsp Rolled oats
  • 1 strip Washed orange peel, with little white pith
  • 1/16 tsp Ground cinnamon

Make it

  1. Prepare the ingredients as listed. Any grain, root vegetable or chestnut listed as cooked must already be fully cooked and cooled.
  2. Blend the cold oat milk with any fruit, nuts, seeds, nut paste or cooked ingredients until completely smooth. Whisk powders with a spoonful of milk first if needed.
  3. Pour into a small saucepan and add the remaining ingredients. Warm gently for 3–4 minutes while whisking; do not boil. Remove any whole peel or ginger slices before serving.
  4. Thin with a splash of water if needed and sip once comfortably warm.

Benefits

Oats · keep the fiber

The 1 tbsp of rolled oats adds some fiber for normal digestion, with oat milk, orange peel, and cinnamon rounding out the flavor.

Orange peel beside oat milk, oats, and cinnamon

Using 1 strip of orange peel adds a fragrant orange-oil note to the warm oat milk, oats, and cinnamon, bringing aroma as well as taste to this combination.
