Lychee Rooibos Daylight
Lychee Lime Rooibos Cooler. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Lychee’s floral sweetness is unusual against rooibos’s earthy, woody flavor. Lime helps connect them by giving the fruit a sharper outline. Use the lychee juice sparingly at first, since its fragrance can become the whole story. Brew the tea separately and taste the combination before adjusting. This is for someone who enjoys a slightly unexpected fruit tea rather than another version of lemon and honey.
Ingredients
- 1 tea bag Rooibos tea
- 6 oz Hot water
- 2 oz Lychee juice
- 1/2 oz Lime juice
Make it
- Steep the tea in hot water for the time on its packet, then remove the bag.
- Let the tea cool. Press or mash any soft fruit and stir in the remaining ingredients.
- Pour over ice. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink.
Benefits
Lime · a little vitamin C
Using lime with rooibos and lychee brings vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, along with a lively citrus tang.
Lychee, rooibos, and lime
The lychee contributes a soft floral fruit flavor to rooibos and lime, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
