Lemon Rooibos Retreat

Lemon Honey Rooibos. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Lemon Rooibos Retreat

Lemon and honey give rooibos a familiar sweet-tart pairing, while the tea adds its mellow, woody depth. Brew the rooibos first so you’re adjusting an actual cup of tea rather than trying to compensate for a weak base. Add honey after tasting the lemon. A little sweetness can soften the citrus without turning the drink into a syrupy mug. The tea’s character should still be there beneath those comforting, familiar additions.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1 tea bag Rooibos tea
  • 1/2 oz Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Honey (optional)

Make it

  1. Add the tea or fruit and spices to a heatproof mug or small saucepan.
  2. Pour in the hot water. Steep tea for the time on its packet, or gently simmer fruit for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags. Strain if you prefer, add any optional sweetener, and sip while comfortably warm.

Benefits

Rooibos · caffeine-free with lemon

Choose pure rooibos for this lemon cup: its mellow, woody brewed flavor comes without the caffeine found in black tea.

Lemon · a reason to linger

Warm lemon with rooibos and you get a clean citrus sharpness in a cup made for small, comfortably warm sips.
