Kiwi First Thing

Kiwi Lime Refresher. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Kiwi First Thing

Kiwi gives this water a green, tangy flavor, and lime makes the sour side a little more pronounced. The fruit needs some help releasing its juice, so lightly mash a few pieces instead of just dropping in slices. You’ll notice kiwi seeds and a little pulp in the finished glass. It’s a fresh, lightly flavored morning option rather than a sweet juice, especially with firmer kiwi.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Cold water
  • 1/2 fruit Kiwi
  • 1/2 oz Lime juice

Make it

  1. Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
  2. Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
  3. Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.

Benefits

Kiwi · a little vitamin C

Kiwi contributes a little vitamin C for collagen formation for healthy skin; lime brings a lively citrus tang in this recipe.

Lime · a flavor worth noticing

Using lime beside kiwi gives the glass a lively citrus tang, creating its own flavor without needing carbonation or an alcoholic pour.
