Juniper at Sunset

NA Gin Grapefruit Thyme Tonic. A simple recipe for a moment that feels like yours.

Juniper at Sunset

Grapefruit and thyme give this NA gin and tonic a more citrusy, savory character. Tonic contributes sweetness and bitterness of its own, while the gin alternative may bring juniper or other botanicals depending on the brand. Keep the thyme modest and taste the grapefruit before adding more. The drink has several assertive ingredients already. A gentle pour and a short rest let them meet without turning the glass into an herbal muddle.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz NA gin
  • 4 oz Tonic water
  • 2 oz Grapefruit juice
  • 1 sprig Thyme

Make it

  1. Add any fruit, herbs, spices, or syrup to a glass and gently press to release flavor.
  2. Add the still liquids and ice. Stir to combine.
  3. Pour in the sparkling ingredient slowly and stir once. Serve immediately.

Benefits

Grapefruit · a little vitamin C

The 2 oz of grapefruit juice adds some vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, with NA gin and thyme rounding out the flavor.

Thyme · more than a sweet mixer

With NA gin and grapefruit in the glass, the measured thyme contributes a gently savory aroma as an accent to the fizz.

Check every NA product’s ABV. Choose clearly labeled 0.0% ingredients if you want to avoid trace alcohol.

If your medicine advises avoiding grapefruit, choose a different recipe or check with your pharmacist.
