Honeydew Open Window
Honeydew Cucumber Cooler. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Honeydew and cucumber are both gentle flavors, so this is a glass for someone who enjoys subtlety. The melon adds a little sweetness, and cucumber gives the water a clean garden scent. Use fragrant, ripe honeydew and thin cucumber slices. A short infusion helps them show up together; don’t expect the strong fruit punch you’d get from blending the melon or using a flavored syrup.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Cold water
- 1/2 cup Honeydew cubes
- 4 slice Cucumber
Make it
- Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
- Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
- Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.
Benefits
Honeydew and cucumber · refreshing fluids
The water does a simple, useful job in this honeydew and cucumber combination: it contributes to hydration while stretching a delicate melon sweetness into a full drink.
A different side of cucumber
There is a crisp green flavor from the measured cucumber in the honeydew mixture, giving that ingredient a place without drowning out the other flavors.
