Grilled Peach Oolong Morning
Lightly grilled fruit gives iced tea a deeper peach character.

Grilling the peach gives it a richer aroma that sits neatly beside oolong's toasted flavor. The fruit should be lightly marked, not burnt, and ripe enough to soften quickly. A little lemon keeps the finish from becoming too mellow. Mash the peach into the tea before straining so the flavor doesn't stay trapped in the fruit. This is a more deliberate version of peach iced tea, with less sweetness and a gently roasted note that remains after the sip.
Ingredients
- 1/2 fruit Ripe peach, pitted and halved
- 1 tea bag Oolong tea
- 7 oz Water
- 1/8 oz Lemon juice
Make it
- Brew the oolong in the measured water according to its packet. Remove the tea bag.
- Put the peach cut-side down in a hot nonstick or seasoned grill pan for 3–4 minutes until lightly marked and softened.
- Mash the peach into the tea, add the lemon juice and strain. Cool briefly, then refrigerate promptly for about 30 minutes before serving.
Benefits
Peach and oolong · refreshing fluids
Using peach, oolong, and lemon turns the measured water into a drink with a mellow stone-fruit sweetness. That water still counts toward your fluid intake.
A different side of lemon
There is a clean citrus sharpness from the measured lemon in the peach and oolong mixture, giving that ingredient a place without drowning out the other flavors.
Contains caffeine.
