Green Tea Clementine Morning

A chilled drink with clementine, mint.

Green Tea Clementine Morning

Green tea's slightly grassy flavor gives clementine juice a drier finish than water would. Mint adds fragrance without needing to be heavily muddled. Brew the tea gently according to its packet, then cool it before adding the fruit; oversteeping can make this combination unpleasantly bitter. The citrus should taste fresh and easy to recognize. Serve it chilled rather than heavily iced if you want to keep the tea flavor clear. This option contains caffeine.

Ingredients

  • 1 tea bag Green tea
  • 6 oz Water
  • 2 oz Clementine juice
  • 4 leaf Mint leaves

Make it

  1. Brew the tea in the measured water, using the temperature and steeping time on its packet. Remove the tea bag.
  2. Cool the tea in a heatproof container, then chill for about 30 minutes.
  3. Mash any soft fruit in a separate glass. Lightly bruise herbs or ginger; add these and the listed juices or spices to the cooled tea.
  4. Stir well and taste. Remove ginger or herb sprigs when their flavor suits you. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink, then serve chilled.

Clementine ยท a little vitamin C

Using clementine with green tea and mint brings vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, along with a soft, sweet citrus flavor.

Mint, green tea, and clementine

The mint contributes a fresh, cooling aroma to green tea and clementine, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.

Contains caffeine.
