Grapefruit Mint Dinner Air

Grapefruit & Cucumber Peppermint Cooler. A different way to make the moment yours.

Grapefruit Mint Dinner Air

Grapefruit gives peppermint tea a bitter, tart edge, while cucumber makes the finish feel greener and lighter. Cool the tea fully before adding the juice and thin cucumber slices. The peppermint should remain an aroma rather than a very strong medicinal flavor, so a normal brew is sufficient. This is a caffeine-free cooler for someone who enjoys grapefruit's sharper side and wants a drink that feels distinctly dry. It makes a useful alternative to a sweet mint-and-lime soda.

Ingredients

  • 1 tea bag Peppermint tea
  • 6 oz Water
  • 2 oz Grapefruit juice
  • 4 slice Cucumber, thinly sliced

Make it

  1. Brew the tea in the measured water, using the temperature and steeping time on its packet. Remove the tea bag.
  2. Cool the tea in a heatproof container, then chill for about 30 minutes.
  3. Mash any soft fruit in a separate glass. Lightly bruise herbs or ginger; add these and the listed juices or spices to the cooled tea.
  4. Stir well and taste. Remove ginger or herb sprigs when their flavor suits you. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink, then serve chilled.

Benefits

Grapefruit · a little vitamin C

Grapefruit contributes a little vitamin C for collagen formation for healthy skin; peppermint brings a cool mint fragrance in this recipe.

Cucumber · a flavor worth noticing

Using cucumber beside peppermint and grapefruit gives the glass a crisp green flavor, creating its own flavor without needing carbonation or an alcoholic pour.

If your medicine advises avoiding grapefruit, choose a different recipe or check with your pharmacist.
