Ginger Rooibos Rest Stop

Ginger Cinnamon Rooibos. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Ginger Rooibos Rest Stop

Ginger and cinnamon give rooibos a warmer, spicier character without adding milk. The tea’s earthy flavor sits beneath the sharper fresh ginger and the cinnamon’s familiar aroma. Brew first, then let the ginger infuse to the strength you enjoy. Ground cinnamon can settle, so stir lightly before drinking. This is a more direct cup than a creamy chai-style drink, with enough spice to be interesting while still leaving the tea recognizable.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1 tea bag Rooibos tea
  • 2 slice Fresh ginger
  • 1/8 tsp Ground cinnamon

Make it

  1. Add the tea or fruit and spices to a heatproof mug or small saucepan.
  2. Pour in the hot water. Steep tea for the time on its packet, or gently simmer fruit for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags. Strain if you prefer, add any optional sweetener, and sip while comfortably warm.

Benefits

Rooibos · caffeine-free with ginger and cinnamon

Rooibos gives ginger and cinnamon a brewed base without caffeine, so the flavor does not depend on a caffeinated tea or coffee.

Ginger · a reason to linger

Warm ginger with rooibos and cinnamon and you get a peppery warmth in a cup made for small, comfortably warm sips.
