Ginger Fresh Page
Lemon Ginger Iced Tea. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

There are two kinds of ginger working here: the tea’s steady warmth and the fresher bite from the added ginger. Lemon gives both a sharper outline. This is more direct than a sweet morning tea, particularly if you leave it unsweetened. Start with thin ginger slices and taste after they’ve had a moment in the cup; the warmth can become quite noticeable as the drink sits.
Ingredients
- 1 tea bag Ginger herbal tea
- 6 oz Hot water
- 1/2 oz Lemon juice
- 2 slice Fresh ginger
Make it
- Steep the tea in hot water for the time on its packet, then remove the bag.
- Let the tea cool. Press or mash any soft fruit and stir in the remaining ingredients.
- Pour over ice. Strain if you prefer a smoother drink.
Benefits
Lemon · a little vitamin C
The 1/2 oz of lemon juice adds some vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, with ginger tea and ginger rounding out the flavor.
Ginger, ginger tea, and lemon
The ginger contributes a peppery warmth to ginger tea and lemon, giving you a specific flavor combination to reach for instead of a default pour.
