Ginger Evening Quiet

Ginger tea brightened with lemon and a short orange-peel infusion.

Ginger Evening Quiet

Ginger tea and fresh ginger give this cup two layers of warmth, while orange peel adds fragrance above the sharper lemon. Keep most of the white pith off the peel so the infusion stays bright rather than bitter. Remove the ginger and peel after brewing; leaving them in can make the last sip much stronger than the first. This is a clear, citrus-scented evening cup with a warmer finish than the morning iced version.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1 tea bag Ginger herbal tea
  • 1/2 oz Lemon juice
  • 2 slice Fresh ginger
  • 1 strip Washed orange peel, with little white pith

Make it

  1. Steep the ginger tea, fresh ginger and orange peel in the hot water for the time on the tea packet.
  2. Remove the bag, orange peel and ginger slices. Stir in the lemon juice.
  3. Taste and serve at a comfortable drinking temperature.
