Fig Rooibos Fireside

Fig Cinnamon Rooibos. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Fig Rooibos Fireside

Fig and cinnamon make rooibos feel mellow and gently fruity, with an almost jammy sweetness if the fig is ripe. The tea gives those softer flavors a woody background. Cut the fruit into small pieces and lightly press some before letting it infuse. Cinnamon should stay in the background, especially because fig is delicate. A few seeds may remain in the cup; strain if you prefer a completely smooth tea to sip slowly.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Hot water
  • 1 tea bag Rooibos tea
  • 1 fruit Fig
  • 1/8 tsp Ground cinnamon

Make it

  1. Add the tea or fruit and spices to a heatproof mug or small saucepan.
  2. Pour in the hot water. Steep tea for the time on its packet, or gently simmer fruit for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags. Strain if you prefer, add any optional sweetener, and sip while comfortably warm.

Benefits

Rooibos · caffeine-free with fig and cinnamon

Choose pure rooibos for this fig and cinnamon cup: its mellow, woody brewed flavor comes without the caffeine found in black tea.
