Fig Mint Quiet Hearth
Fig & Cardamom Peppermint Tea. A different way to make the moment yours.

Ripe fig gives peppermint a mellow, jam-like fruit note, while a tiny pinch of cardamom adds another layer of aroma. Remove the fig stem and mash the flesh gently into the tea. Straining makes the cup smoother if you don't enjoy the seeds. Keep the cardamom small so it doesn't compete with the mint. This is an unusual but gentle evening combination, with a cooler first impression and a softer, dried-fruit-like finish as the fig flavor comes through.
Ingredients
- 1 tea bag Peppermint tea
- 6 oz Water
- 1 fruit Ripe fig, stem removed
- 1 tiny pinch Ground cardamom
Make it
- Prepare any fruit as listed, removing stones, cores and hard stems.
- Brew the tea in the measured water according to its packet, then remove the bag.
- Whisk any nut or seed butter into a spoonful of the hot tea first. Add it back with the fruit, juice, spices or other listed flavorings. Warm gently in a small pan for 3–4 minutes if needed to soften fruit; do not boil.
