Fig Apricot Late Kitchen

Warm Fig, Apricot & Ginger Cup. A different way to make the moment yours.

Fig Apricot Late Kitchen

Fig and apricot make a soft, rounded fruit combination, while ginger brings a little warmth to the finish. Remove the fig's hard stem and let the flesh soften before mashing it into the cup. The seeds may remain noticeable, so strain if you'd rather have a smoother drink. Apricot nectar supplies enough sweetness that extra sugar is rarely the first thing this needs. This is a mellow evening fruit cup with a gently spicy edge and a fuller aroma than plain juice.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Water
  • 1 fruit Ripe fig, stem removed
  • 2 oz Apricot nectar
  • 2 slice Fresh ginger, thinly sliced

Make it

  1. Prepare the fruit as listed, removing all stones, cores and hard stems.
  2. Put the water and all remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until any fresh fruit has softened.
  3. Mash softened fruit gently, then strain if you prefer a smoother cup. Remove whole peel, herbs or ginger pieces. Serve comfortably warm.
