Fig After Five
Fig Lemon Thyme Smash. A simple recipe for a moment that feels like yours.

Fig gives this fizz a soft, almost jammy fruit note, while lemon and thyme make the finish more interesting. It’s less instantly juicy than a berry drink, so ripe fig and a good gentle mash matter. Expect small seeds and some texture. Use thyme sparingly, then add the sparkling water after mixing the still ingredients. The balance should feel mellow at first, with citrus and herb appearing around the quieter fig flavor.
Ingredients
- 5 oz Sparkling water
- 1 fruit Fig
- 1/2 oz Lemon juice
- 1 sprig Thyme
Make it
- Add any fruit, herbs, spices, or syrup to a glass and gently press to release flavor.
- Add the still liquids and ice. Stir to combine.
- Pour in the sparkling ingredient slowly and stir once. Serve immediately.
Benefits
Lemon · a little vitamin C
The 1/2 oz of lemon juice adds some vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, with fig and thyme rounding out the flavor.
Fig · more than a sweet mixer
With lemon and thyme in the glass, the measured fig contributes a rounded, honeyed fruit flavor as an accent to the fizz.
