Date With a Good Book

Warm Date Cinnamon Milk. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Date With a Good Book

Date and cinnamon make oat milk feel a little richer, with the date adding a caramel-like fruit sweetness. A soft date blends more easily than a dry, firm one, so take a moment to check its texture. Blend thoroughly before gently warming if needed. You may notice fine pieces unless the mixture is very smooth. This is a fuller cup than plain spiced milk, with the date contributing body as well as sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 fruit Pitted date
  • 1/8 tsp Ground cinnamon

Make it

  1. Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
  2. Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
  3. Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.

Benefits

Dates with a useful milk choice

For this dates cup, picking calcium-fortified oat milk gives the creamy base an extra role: contributing to your calcium intake.
