Date Cardamom Lights Low

Date Cardamom Oat Milk. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Date Cardamom Lights Low

Date and cardamom make oat milk feel rich in flavor without needing a separate syrup. The date brings a caramel-like sweetness and a little body; cardamom adds a fragrant spice note. A soft date is easier to blend smoothly, so check before dropping in a very dry one. Warm the blended mixture gently and taste the spice carefully. You should still notice the date beneath the aroma, rather than a cup that tastes only of cardamom.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 fruit Pitted date
  • 1/16 tsp Ground cardamom

Make it

  1. Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
  2. Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
  3. Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.

Benefits

Dates with a useful milk choice

The dates supplies a caramel-like dried-fruit sweetness; a calcium-fortified oat milk can bring something useful of its own for bones and teeth.

Dates beside oat milk and cardamom

Using 1 fruit of dates adds a caramel-like dried-fruit sweetness to the warm oat milk and cardamom, bringing aroma as well as taste to this combination.
