Dark Berry Vanilla Nightcap
Warm Pomegranate, Blackcurrant & Vanilla Cup. A different way to make the moment yours.

Pomegranate and blackcurrant make a tart, dark-fruit combination, with vanilla giving the finish a softer aroma. The water is important here; without it, the juices can feel quite concentrated and sharp. Use plain juices rather than undiluted cordial. Vanilla should stay in the background rather than turn the cup into a sweet dessert flavor. This is a fuller-tasting evening fruit drink with a slightly dry finish, especially good if mild apple or pear cups feel a little too quiet.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Water
- 2 oz Pomegranate juice
- 1 oz Blackcurrant juice
- 1/8 tsp Alcohol-free vanilla flavoring
Make it
- Prepare the fruit as listed, removing all stones, cores and hard stems.
- Put the water and all remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until any fresh fruit has softened.
- Mash softened fruit gently, then strain if you prefer a smoother cup. Remove whole peel, herbs or ginger pieces. Serve comfortably warm.
