Cranberry Pear First Meeting
A sparkling drink with cranberry, pear, ginger.

Pear takes some of the sharpness out of cranberry, and ginger gives the finish a little warmth. Use ripe pear slices and press them firmly enough to release juice. Cranberry products vary widely: a sweetened juice drink will taste much softer than pure unsweetened cranberry juice. Start with the measured quantity and taste before adding more. The result should be tart and lightly fruity, with a ginger note that stays in the background rather than turning it spicy.
Ingredients
- 5 oz Sparkling water
- 1 oz Cranberry juice
- 1/2 fruit Ripe pear, cored and sliced
- 2 slice Fresh ginger, thinly sliced
Make it
- Prepare the fruit and herbs as listed. Mash soft fruit to release juice; lightly press herbs or thin ginger slices without shredding them.
- Add the still juices and stir. Strain out seeds, skins or herb pieces if you prefer a smoother texture.
- Pour in the chilled sparkling water slowly and stir once. Serve immediately, with ice if you like.
Benefits
Cranberry and pear · refreshing fluids
Using cranberry, pear, and ginger turns the measured water into a drink with a sharp berry edge. That water still counts toward your fluid intake.
Make room for pear
Pear gives the cranberry and ginger a mellow orchard sweetness—an aromatic pairing to serve freshly mixed, while the bubbles are lively.
