Coconut Cardamom Curtains

Cardamom Coconut Milk. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Coconut Cardamom Curtains

Cardamom adds a fragrant, slightly citrusy spice note to rich coconut milk. The coconut provides plenty of body, so this can feel satisfying in a smaller mug. Heat gently and stir the measured spice through well; ground cardamom won’t dissolve into nothing. Let the cup cool slightly before judging the strength. The balance should leave coconut creamy and recognizable, with a little perfume from the spice rather than an overwhelmingly aromatic finish.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/16 tsp Ground cardamom

Make it

  1. Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
  2. Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
  3. Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.

Benefits

Coconut milk and cardamom · keep the flavor ritual

The coconut milk and cardamom combination gives you a creamy coconut flavor in a mixed drink built around its own flavors, keeping the familiar act of mixing and pouring while changing what goes into the glass.

A warmer side of cardamom

The coconut milk carries a fragrant, almost citrusy warmth from cardamom, giving you a fragrant warm drink to enjoy in place of an alcoholic nightcap.
