Clementine Clean Slate
A sparkling drink with clementine, rosemary.

Fresh clementine juice has a rounder, gentler citrus flavor than lemon, and the rosemary gives it a slightly woodsy edge. A small sprig is plenty. Rub it between your fingers before adding it, rather than crushing it into the juice. The result should still feel like a bright breakfast drink, with a savory hint at the finish. Chill the juice first so you can use less ice and keep that clementine flavor concentrated.
Ingredients
- 5 oz Sparkling water
- 2 oz Clementine juice
- 1/2 small sprig Fresh rosemary
Make it
- Prepare the fruit and herbs as listed. Mash soft fruit to release juice; lightly press herbs or thin ginger slices without shredding them.
- Add the still juices and stir. Strain out seeds, skins or herb pieces if you prefer a smoother texture.
- Pour in the chilled sparkling water slowly and stir once. Serve immediately, with ice if you like.
Benefits
Clementine ยท a little vitamin C
You get a small vitamin C contribution from clementine in the rosemary mixture, supporting normal immune function alongside a soft, sweet citrus flavor.
A sparkling setting for rosemary
Pairing rosemary with clementine puts a piney herbal note into a fizzy glass, with bubbles making the texture part of the pleasure.
