Cherry Sage Evening Pause
Warm Cherry & Sage Cup. A different way to make the moment yours.

Tart cherry juice gives sage a fruity, slightly dry background, while a little optional honey can soften the sharper edges. Use one small leaf and remove it once its woodsy aroma becomes clear. The sage should make the drink interesting, not make it taste like a savory sauce. Diluting the juice keeps the cup light enough to sip comfortably. This is an unusual evening fruit drink with a gentle herbal finish and more character than simply warming up a glass of cherry juice.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Water
- 2 oz Tart cherry juice
- 1 leaf Sage leaf
- 1/2 tsp Honey (optional)
Make it
- Prepare the fruit as listed, removing all stones, cores and hard stems.
- Put the water and all remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until any fresh fruit has softened.
- Mash softened fruit gently, then strain if you prefer a smoother cup. Remove whole peel, herbs or ginger pieces. Serve comfortably warm.
