Carob Maple Blanket

Maple Carob Oat Latte. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Carob Maple Blanket

Maple makes carob and oat milk feel a little richer and more dessert-like. The carob already has a mellow sweetness, so the syrup deserves a taste check rather than an automatic generous pour. Stir the powder into a small amount of milk before heating the rest gently. You want a smooth, roasted cup with a deeper maple note. Extra sweetness shouldn’t be doing the job of hiding lumps or an under-mixed carob powder.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 tsp Carob powder
  • 1/2 tsp Maple syrup (optional)

Make it

  1. Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
  2. Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
  3. Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.

Benefits

Carob with a useful milk choice

The carob supplies a gently sweet, roasted cocoa-like flavor; a calcium-fortified oat milk can bring something useful of its own for bones and teeth.

Carob · a reason to linger

Warm carob with oat milk and you get a gently sweet, roasted cocoa-like flavor in a cup made for small, comfortably warm sips.
