Carob Cardamom Couch

Cardamom Carob Oat Latte. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Carob Cardamom Couch

Cardamom gives carob and oat milk a fragrant, lightly spiced character. Carob brings a mellow roasted sweetness, while the milk supplies the soft texture. Mix the powder into a little liquid first to help avoid lumps, then warm gently and add the measured spice. Cardamom is powerful enough to change the cup quickly. The roasted carob should still be enjoyable beneath it, instead of becoming a background for an overly perfumed milk drink.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 1 tsp Carob powder
  • 1/16 tsp Ground cardamom

Make it

  1. Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
  2. Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
  3. Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.

Benefits

Carob with a useful milk choice

Choose fortified oat milk and the carob in this cup comes with a little calcium too, contributing to normal muscle function as well as bones and teeth.

The cardamom detail

Here cardamom supplies a fragrant, almost citrusy warmth, with oat milk and carob turning that familiar ingredient into a different kind of warm cup.
