Cardamom Quiet Kitchen
Cardamom Almond Milk. A simple recipe for your evening wind-down.

Cardamom gives almond milk a fragrant spice note with a faint citrus-like edge. Because the base is so mild, a small measure of spice is enough to make this interesting. Warm the milk gently and whisk or stir thoroughly; ground cardamom won’t dissolve completely. Let the cup cool a little before tasting. The almond milk should feel soft and lightly nutty, with cardamom adding perfume rather than making the drink gritty or overwhelmingly spiced.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Unsweetened almond milk
- 1/16 tsp Ground cardamom
Make it
- Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan; do not boil.
- Add the spices, flavoring, and any fruit. Whisk powders well. If using tea, steep for the packet’s recommended time and remove the bag.
- Simmer gently for 2 minutes. Strain whole spices or fruit if you like, then pour into a mug.
Benefits
Cardamom with a useful milk choice
The cardamom supplies a fragrant, almost citrusy warmth; a calcium-fortified almond milk can bring something useful of its own for bones and teeth.
