Buckwheat Vanilla Evening Porch

Cooked Buckwheat & Vanilla Oat Cup. A different way to make the moment yours.

Buckwheat Vanilla Evening Porch

Cooked buckwheat brings an earthy, gently nutty flavor to this warm milk, with vanilla smoothing the edges. The optional maple syrup adds a little sweetness but shouldn't hide the grain. Use fully cooked, cooled groats and blend them thoroughly before warming. A fine sieve can make the texture smoother if that's your preference. This is a grain-based evening cup with more body than tea, especially useful when you're curious about toasted flavors without reaching for coffee or cocoa.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Unsweetened oat milk
  • 2 tbsp Cooked, cooled buckwheat groats
  • 1/8 tsp Alcohol-free vanilla flavoring
  • 1/2 tsp Maple syrup (optional)

Make it

  1. Prepare the ingredients as listed. Any grain, root vegetable or chestnut listed as cooked must already be fully cooked and cooled.
  2. Blend the cold oat milk with any fruit, nuts, seeds, nut paste or cooked ingredients until completely smooth. Whisk powders with a spoonful of milk first if needed.
  3. Pour into a small saucepan and add the remaining ingredients. Warm gently for 3–4 minutes while whisking; do not boil. Remove any whole peel or ginger slices before serving.
  4. Thin with a splash of water if needed and sip once comfortably warm.

Benefits

Buckwheat · keep the fiber

With buckwheat beside oat milk and vanilla, this glass offers a little fiber for keeping digestion moving regularly.

The vanilla detail

Here vanilla supplies a sweet-smelling vanilla aroma, with oat milk and buckwheat turning that familiar ingredient into a different kind of warm cup.

The buckwheat must be cooked and cooled before blending. Preparation time assumes this is already done.
