Blueberry Tarragon Garden Chair

Blueberry, Lime & Tarragon Spritz. A different way to make the moment yours.

Blueberry Tarragon Garden Chair

Blueberries give this spritz a gentle fruit sweetness, while lime and tarragon add a sharper, more aromatic finish. The herb's anise note is subtle when you use a small sprig, but it can become strong if left too long. Press the berries enough to release their juice before adding the soda. The drink will have a soft purple color and a little texture unless strained. It is a quieter, herbal alternative to a sweet blueberry lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 5 oz Sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup Blueberries
  • 1/4 oz Lime juice
  • 1 small sprig Fresh tarragon

Make it

  1. Prepare the fruit and herbs as listed. Mash soft fruit to release juice; lightly press herbs or thin ginger slices without shredding them.
  2. Add the still juices and stir. Strain out seeds, skins or herb pieces if you prefer a smoother texture.
  3. Pour in the chilled sparkling water slowly and stir once. Serve immediately, with ice if you like.

Benefits

Lime · a little vitamin C

Using lime with blueberry and tarragon brings vitamin C for absorbing iron from plant foods, along with a lively citrus tang.

Blueberry · more than a sweet mixer

With lime and tarragon in the glass, the measured blueberry contributes a mellow berry sweetness as an accent to the fizz.
