Blood Orange Dawn
Blood Orange Spritz. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Blood orange needs very little dressing up. Its deeper citrus flavor can have a faint bitter edge that feels especially good against cold bubbles. The finished drink should still taste recognizably of orange, just lighter than the juice on its own. Check whether your juice is already sweetened, and begin with the recipe proportions before adding more. A cold glass is all the presentation this really needs.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Sparkling water
- 2 oz Blood orange juice
Make it
- Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
- Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
- Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.
