Blackberry Bright Start
Blackberry Limeade. A simple recipe for the start of your day.

Blackberries and lime give you a darker, tangier fruit water than a simple berry infusion. The lime arrives quickly, while the berries need a gentle press to release their juice. Expect seeds and a bit of color rather than a perfectly clear glass. A ripe blackberry makes this much more inviting; if the fruit is quite sharp, ease back on the lime instead of assuming the recipe needs more sweetness.
Ingredients
- 6 oz Cold water
- 1/4 cup Blackberries
- 1/2 oz Lime juice
Make it
- Add the fruit and herbs to a glass. Gently press soft fruit or herbs to release their flavor.
- Stir in the juice, any optional salt or sweetener, and the water. If using sparkling water, add it last and stir once.
- Add ice if you like. Let infused water stand for 5 minutes for a fuller flavor.
Benefits
Lime · a little vitamin C
Lime contributes a little vitamin C for collagen formation for healthy skin; blackberry brings a dark, tart berry flavor in this recipe.
Blackberry · a flavor worth noticing
Using blackberry beside lime gives the glass a dark, tart berry flavor, creating its own flavor without needing carbonation or an alcoholic pour.
